Work Permit

Work permits and applications for temporary workers, business people, students and caregivers in the Live-In Caregiver Program. Work Permit only allows you to work or a short period in Canada. It does not mean at all you have become the permanent resident of Canada who can work full-time in Canada. An immigrant cannot work in Canada without the Work Permit. Any immigrant caught working in the state of Canada without the Work Permit will immediately be transported out of the country, and the Canadian police might forbid your access to Canada for the rest of your life.

To get Work Permit, your employer will send you a job offer or a contract in the written form and send the document from future employer to the Canadian Embassy in your country (If you are outside Canada) or take it to the appropriate authority if you already living in Canada.

An international student studying in Canada can also get a Student Work Permit to enable such student work up to 20 hours per week outside the college and work full-time as a student during college summer and winter breaks.
